For ISPWP Member Photographers only – Our good friends over at the Foundation Forum are hosting a conference aptly named the Foundation Conference on November 3-4 in Addison, Texas. They have an impressive line up of presenters including Matt Mendehsohn, Ray + Erwin of Apertura Photography, Amy Deputy, Huy Nguyen, Sergio, Tyler + Becca of Wirken Photography, Judy Cormier, Ben Chrisman and Brett Butterstein.
The ISPWP is co-sponsoring it along with ProDPI Photo Lab, and for a fun promotion, we’re holding a mini-contest (NOT related to the ISPWP Quarterly Photo Contest) to win free registration for the conference! The regular registration is $399 so this is a great opportunity. If you’ve already registered, you can win a refund of your registration fee!
For full details on the conference visit the Foundation Conference website.
Here’s how you can win:
1. All ISPWP members are invited to submit a creative self-portrait by September 30.
2. There are NO RULES about the image content or creation process. Just keep it family friendly!
3. Image should be no larger than 400 pixels on the long side (Vertical or horizontal) and under 100kb.
4. Each photographer may only submit ONE IMAGE each along with a statement of WHY they want to attend the Foundation Conference.
5. I will post the images below this blog post. Blog visitors must VOTE for their favorite self-portrait by posting a comment.
6. On October 7, the image that has the most votes in the blog comments wins. It’s that simple! Get your friends, family, clients to all vote for you!
7. I’ll start posting the self-portraits as soon as they are submitted so the sooner you submit, the more votes you can get.
If I think of any other rules, then I’ll post them later.
How do I vote for my favorite self-portrait?
Vote for your favorite in the comments below. New entries will be posted as they are submitted through September 30. Voting will be open until October 7 so choose wisely. Get your family, friends and clients to vote for you! This is meant to be a fun contest and relies on everyone playing fair. Only one vote per person, don’t be *that person*

“I don’t really get interested in many workshops, seminars, or other things like that, but I’ve been intrigued by the Foundation Workshops for years. So, if I won this contest, it would be the perfect excuse for me to get my anti-social, film-shooting self down to Texas to attend the Foundation Conference. Also, if I win, I will send everyone who votes for me something special in the mail… if they are brave enough to give me their addresses. |

5. Aga M “Why I want to attend? Because it’s THE BEST! I think the gathering of best photographers; greatest minds, inspiration and talent along many great friends I already met through Foundation [forum and workshop] and many more new friends I’m going to meet is invaluable and I strongly believe that nothing else comes or will come close to it in terms of what one can gain by being part of the Conference. |

6. Mark Gardner “Having attended the Foundation Workshop (FW4) I’m aware of what this type of workshop can do to supercharge one’s personal creativity, not to mention one’s business. After recently picking up shop and moving my business to a new market, I can use a good boost of creativity and motivation that only Foundation can provide. It’s a Dog-Eat-Dog world out there, eat or be eaten!” – Mark Gardner |

Fantastic picture from Verna Pitts.
AGA is the best !
I vote for #14, Verna Pitts. Her photograph tells a story, as reflected in her comments. My interpretation is that while you see one version on the outside, there is a much more complex individual inside.
Instead of just capturing a fragment of reality, she created her own scene…bravo!
