Real Wedding Description

After 20+ years of photographing hundreds of wedding, this year I got to shoot my very first wedding proposal. Jeffrey (fiancee to be) contacted me weeks before the shoot from Ohio, and told me about his plans for a surprise proposal event with his girlfriend Iti. The plans were complex and  constantly changing as we dealt with weather and about 10 different people's schedules.It was going to rain, then it wasn't, backup plans were made and scratched, flights were booked and switched...  

In the end though, we had a perfect weekend day on which Iti's girlfriends took her to the top of Federal Hill and then, suddenly, put a blindfold on her.  She thought they were just having a girls' weekend in Baltimore, so this came as something of a surprise. So did the sounds of a camera clicking, and a violin in the distance.  

And then ... she opened her eyes to see Jeffrey there with a ring in his hand and a question in his eye.

The answer was yes of course, and there was laughter and hugs, and a little picnic under a shady tree. I also managed to pull them away for some impromptu engagement portraits.
