Pure and Leo, originally from China, but now living in Switzerland, decided to have their destination wedding at the fairytale Chateau de Challain, located about 4 hours away from Paris near the city of Angers. This was my third wedding at Challain and it is honestly the most beautiful wedding location that I know. Arriving through the chateau’s main entry gate is an awe inspiring experience as one is confronted with the towering ornate pillars and exquisitely maintained French gardens. I began photographing Pure and her bridesmaids while they were getting ready in one of the enormous mahogany walled bedrooms downstairs. Guests then slowly moved to the romantic outdoor ceremony location which consisted of a decorated gazebo and beautiful flower bouquets. Leo waited at the gazebo as Pure inched her way out of the chateau, down the steps and across the small path toward him. Her veil must have measured 10 feet in length. Following the rather brief but very intimate ceremony, guests congratulated the newlyweds with champagne. I then spent a half an hour taking some portraits of the couple both inside and outside of the chateau. Dinner, dancing and the wedding cake presentation concluded the day’s events.
