Shalista is an elected board member of the South Dakota Professional Photographers Association, and recently has begun speaking to groups and workshops about her craft. She has been an award winning member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association, a Fuji Wedding Portrait winner, and is currently working towards her Masters Degree from the National PPA.

Shalista has been married to her fabulous husband for 8 years and they have three children and a naughty beagle.
