“Rain” by Marcis Baltskars, Riga, Latvia Wedding Photographer

The ISPWP has a monthly photo assignment given to the members. Entries are posted on the ISPWP Forum, and all members get to vote on the winner.

The October assignment was “Rain.”

Congratulations to Riga, Latvia wedding photographer Marcis Baltskars for winning the ISPWP Photo of the Month.

Here are Marcis’ notes about the image:

Outside, since the early morning the sun was shining and together with the newlyweds we were going to our Photo session via planned route. We just walked into the crop field when suddenly the heavens opened. The earth and the sky become one as thunder roared and lightening flashed above our heads. However, the newlyweds were as crazy as weather – nothing could stop them to enjoy their wedding day! While running to hide under the closest roof emotions flowing from the bride and groom were like the rain filling a swollen river and that brought into the pictures such a passion – something I have never seen in any other wedding.
As I have been present in countless ceremonies, I know that pastors interpret the rain as a blessing. Apparently they got a big one!
