| Description: Julian brings his experience photographing some of the biggest news stories and events in the world to the weddings he shoots. Specializing in destination weddings around Southeast Asia, Julian has a keen eye for capturing those special decisive moments of your wedding day, often in an offbeat and humorous style. He always looks for bold colour and curious angles for his engagement and pre-wedding sessions, striving for new, unique images for every client.
When Julian isn’t shooting weddings, he shoots editorial and corporate assignments around Southeast Asia. His clients include TIME Magazine, The New York Times, BBC, The Economist, LA Times, l’Espresso, the Telegraph, the Guardian, Communications Arts, Stern, Der Spiegel and many other international newspapers, magazines, NGOs and companies.
In 2009 Julian won awards at World Press Photo, Sony World Photography Awards and the International Photography Awards for his work at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
Based in Manila, Philippines, Julian has photographed destination weddings and engagements in Vietnam (Hanoi, Hoi An, Halong Bay and Nha Trang), Thailand (Bangkok, Koh Samui and Hua Hin), Laos (Luang Prabang), Cambodia (Siem Reap) and Bali. As of 2012, he also offers documentary wedding and creative engagement photography in Nova Scotia, Canada, where he spends two months every summer taking a break from Jeepnies, Cyclos, Tuk-tuks, durian and fish sauce.
